Where To Find Copyright Free Stock Photos For Re-Use

Chris Muniu February 14, 2017

The copyrights subject sometimes gets complicated and you’re not really sure whether you are on the wrong or the right. The images you use on your websites, blogs and memes can sometimes land you in trouble if they don’t belong to you or are free stock photos.

If you need photos to re-use wherever you want, you can always get stock photos that are not bound by any copyrights. There are plenty of websites online that have high quality copyright free images. Here are the best ones to download free stock photos.

By free I mean that they all fall under the Creative Commons CC0 license. That means you can copy, modify, distribute any photo on the site, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission!

StockSnap has a huge collection of stock photos classified into different categories to allows users to easily search for what they are looking for.

FreeRange : This is more than a free stock photo source. The site also has about 20,000 CCo photos, most of which have accurate keywords and descriptions. The website also allows contributors to earn money through Google Adsense on pages that contain their photos.

Pixabay: This stock photo collection is basically a collection of photos from other websites.  The most interesting thing about Pixabay is it’s ability sort the stock photos according to the camera that was used to take them.

Life of Pix:  Apart from abundance in high quality photos, they have a sister website called Life of Vids that has tons of stock videos for free.

Flickr:  A Yahoo product with a huge gallery of stock images. Although Flickr is not dedicated to provide free stock images,  you can find quite a number if you search with the correct filters.

Pexels:  has been around for only two years but has grown rapidly.  It not only provides photos hosted on the website but also displays photos from other websites. All the photos are free.
