With other media players like Windows media player and other you might have downloaded,  you can make VLC you default player for all files playable as shown in the video.

To make it the default player in your Windows computer,  launch the control panel. Click on Programs. On the Programs window,  Click on Default programs. From the list of default players,  click on VLC.
